RenewABLE Community Option is a voluntary, subscription-based tariff that provides you, the customer, with the opportunity to supplement your electricity usage with clean, renewable energy generated from resources in Mississippi. This program is limited to 40,000 kW in total and subscriptions up to 5,000 kW are available based on a first come, first served enrollment process. Customers enrolled in the program pay a monthly subscription fee in exchange for a variable credit based on the output of the renewable resource, Sunflower Solar Station, which may be impacted by weather and availability.
Yes, RCO is subscribed to on an account-by-account basis and requires a separate enrollment application for each account. The maximum subscription allowed per account correlates to your annual energy usage expressed in kilowatt hours (kWh). You may enroll as few or as many eligible accounts as desired, up to the program cap of 5,000 kilowatt (kW) in subscriptions per parent company or the equivalent of a parent company (i.e., any corporate entity or its subsidiary).
No, the RCO is not intended to provide 100% of a customer’s electricity from solar. Solar is considered an intermittent generation source, meaning that it can’t produce power 100% of the time, specifically during nighttime hours. Because of these characteristics, a customer will continue to receive power from all of Entergy Mississippi's generation resources or mix, which includes solar.
No, not at this time. The initial term of enrollment under RCO shall be for a one-year period and shall automatically be extended for successive periods of one year each until terminated by written notice given by one party to the other not more than six months nor less than two months prior to the expiration of the original term or any anniversary thereof. Customers who terminate RCO may re-enroll under RCO twelve months after the termination date if enrollment is still available.
If you move from your service location, you can keep your subscription if:
You are relocating within the Entergy Mississippi service area, and
You are starting service at your new location immediately, and
You are starting service at your new location under the same rate schedule as your previous location.
Your monthly RCO subscription charge is calculated by multiplying the number of kilowatts (kW) you have subscribed to by the preset RCO Capacity Charge (a $7.00 per kW value).
Your monthly credit is calculated by multiplying your portion of the energy the Sunflower Solar facility produces by the MISO Market Settlement Rate (the amount that MISO pays for that energy), as shown below:
Monthly Credit Value = RCO Energy x MISO Market Settlement Rate
Where, RCO Energy = (Customer’s RCO subscription value in kW / Capacity of Sunflower Solar facility in kW) x Monthly kWh Output of Sunflower Solar
Any commercial, industrial, or governmental customer of Entergy Mississippi, whose metered service account(s) is in good standing, is eligible to participate, pending program availability when a customer applies.

A renewable energy credit, or sometimes called a renewable energy certificate, is a certificate corresponding to the environmental attributes of energy produced from renewable sources, such as wind or solar, to the electric utility grid.
Entergy Mississippi will retire the RECs corresponding to your subscription on your behalf. You will receive documentation noting the retirement of those RECs.
Any future approved solar resources may be considered to expand the available renewable capacity of the RCO program.
